Diz is harvesting email addresses for spam. I used unique disposeable addresses to register with masha (back when) and ivana (recently). I entered the email addresses in the sign up forms without completing a subscription at ivana (you need to enter it to see the prices), so you do not even have to subscribe.

What i do know is the spam started a couple weeks after i terminated my masha subscription, and it also arrived at the ivana address at the same time (for which i had just looked at the price at the time, not subscribed). It also comes to a third address, which i also just used to see the price (yea laugh about my bad number memory, go on ;-) )

So for me that's as close to definite proof as you can get, since i didn't enter those addresses anywhere else.

In fact, turns out over 90% of spam i get goes to those three addresses. I never see my spam so i didn't notice before. Way to go diz, i hope you made a good buck on selling my addresses since i'm just gonna disable them now!

Oh, by the way, that's pretty asinine behaviour you are displaying there. You don't deserve any of the girls working for you....

wow, that's a solid 20000 spam mails to the addresses diz or one of his people sold.

I have to review my 90% figure from before. That's 99.9%

Oh well the other thread is not as clear.

I have used disposeable one time only addresses on mashaworld and ivana signup, a third address only for seeing the price not signup.

On those aliases were over 6000 spams each. On all other aliases were no more than 30, not a simgle one. Mostly just one or two legitimate signup messages.

So someone here is leaking like a sieve, and i know definitely and for sure because those aliases were not used anywhere else. I'm talking about the site signup pages here not the forum (who would be so stupid as to even enter a valid address for it?).

Maybe i'm accusing diz wrongly of being capable to sell his granny, but there sure is someone making money on the side here.

Course i wouldn't use a permanent address for pages like this, but some people probably will. And they'll never know who sold them out, I do.

Anyway, didn't plan to stay for more than a month anyway and the addresses are forwarding straight to hell now. But be warned, and don't be stupid.

If you enter an address in only one single place, ever, and you get spam to it, how did the spammers get the address?

I didn't do it once, i did it with three different addresses, all get the same number of spam mails, always duplicates.

Now you don't need to be a genius to figure that one out.

BTW i do use many layers of spam protection, and didn't notice this for more than a year because i don't usually make a habit of reading spam. But today i got curious which unique addresses produce most of the spam, and well, there are only those three ;-)

My regular (real) address also get some spam, but i can not trace that easily of course.

Like Rich says spam comes from all over the place. Even if it is leaked from signup here it is only a drop in the ocean. Big deal.

You are just stupid if you think it's "no big deal".

Since i blocked the 3 aliases around midnight, 6 hours ago, the three addresses clocked up 33 spam mails that were immediately deleted.

In the same 6 hours since midnight i got 3 spam mails to my regular address. Mind that i have this other address for ~10 years and it's even public on yahoo mailgroups.

So don't tell me it's just a drop in the ocean, it's the bloody amazon! It has multiplied my spam by a factor of 10 since i signed up for masha about a year ago.

Did you use a unique email address when signing up? No? Then how can you refute my claim?

We can't do anything against the spammers, they probably aren't even human any more. But people who sell us out to them should be tied to a lamp post near an ants nest, naked, with their sensitive bits coated in honey.

It's just not acceptable.

I agree , this is really hard to deal with and I am myself getting about 20k spams a day and I get sick of it. However, I can assure you 100% that we NEVER SOLD our member list. In whole 7 years of our operation we never sent even one spam and only 1-2 newsletters about new offers on our sites.
This is global problem in adult industry.

It is very big deal but its so far beyond our control. :confused:

Its pissing me off because we maybe among only few companies which never used our email DB and it is quite big and would bring us income for sure, but this is so against our policy and we never run for easy buck.

I am not going to delete your post, we did many things to prevent the spam and so far it didnt help much. I can advise you to use separate email box for porn sites because this industry is lacking many basic principles but its getting better and better. The only spammers left are Russians mostly and we trace them all and close their accounts once we caught them.

Well someone with access to your DB sold it, i don't say it was you or you even knew about it. But since the addresses were only used for your sites, and complex enough so bots wouldn't guess them, it's pretty obvious. Of course you could also have a hacker problem.

What use is a policy if you can't enforce it?
If you can't trust your people you probably should do something about that.

Anyway, i've said my piece, i'm off. I don't envy all those people who used a permanent address and are stuck with the spam.

i dont think, that the owner, webmaster of quality porn sites were the snitchers, but in my opinion the really big ones for ex the billing companies deal with everything they get between their fingers. ccbill is one of the bigones, but how to detect these.

Also every day will thousands of sites hacked by Crackers, they use the founding datas for free entry, but also to deal with mail-accounts.

Go for ex to a passboard, there u get any answer u want.

I just feel that I have to post here now.

Guys, if you get much spam - try to get an gmail account!
I run several TGPs and I register my gmail adress all over the net (adult sites, forums, whatever). I seldom get any spam in my inbox. The gmail filter catches 99% of all spammails!
Now, i am not getting 20k a day as some :) but about 50 business mails and maybe 50-60 spammails in the spamfolder. And again - I use this email adress A LOT!

open a hotmail account like fjhfjhfj7676764@hotmail.com, leave it and dont use it to sign up any where and you will not get any spam!!
why be happy with Seldom?
and its odd u say gmail because a lot of my spam was coming from gmail accounts! maybe it takes one to know one, and thats why they are so good at spottng them?

Yes, a lot of spam comes from gmail accounts. Still... gmail has a good filter and I need to use e-mails to register - so I prefer gmail.
The point is not IF you get spam or not, the point must be how to avoid spending much time deleting spam messages!

Hello guys,

Diesel's post of us not selling your emails or even sending you any commercial email (aside customer support issues) doesn't need my confirmation. I'll try to explain you some things and I hope it will be more clear to you what happened. Few months ago we started receiving some complaints of members starting getting various spams to their emails after joiing one of our sites. In some cases those members had used a unique email address therefore there was no doubt this was happening. We did a full investigation to trace at which step this email was compromised and the reason of it. At the same timeframe (within the same week or something like that) we found out that the affiliate software company we are using and the aff.software called NATS had a serious bug that allowed a hacker to access the list of emails AND NOT the billing info of any member or user that would fill his email and postal code as we ask on the 1st step of our join page. You see in the adult industry NATS software in my own estimation serves over 60% of serious adult companies therefore the same phenomenon was experienced across the whole adult online industry. There are several articles on this since it was a major concern. If you have been a client of more than one or two adult companies chances it ended up in hands of a spammer are very high.

Our fears and personally collected evidences were confirmed. The company behind NATS assured us they solved the security issue and the problem belonged to the past. Over those last months we didn't have any actual spam/abuse complaint aside this topic (thought could have occured from period of collected the email prior issue getting fixed). After this topic alert we proceed to a new investigation to determine if a new security issue arised.

Some further clarifications...in the spams you receive the from is a forged one, you only get to see 99.9% of the time a non-existing account. The possibility of receiving spam coming from a GMAIL account is minimal and this is due to the security it has that limits the # of emails an account can send and furthermore has extensive filters on adult mailing and bulk mailing attempts. Their engineers are the top of the world imho and this is why those of you using GMAIL service barely see any spam making to their inbox. GMAIL pretty much has solved the spam problem for the average user or business.

Pending an investigation there's not many things to say aside please give us sometime to see those cases too.

If you have received a spam after you joined any of our site recently and you STRONGLY believe it is related with it please submit it to www.onetouchservice.com under abuse system and we will examine. I pointed the stongly since unless someone has been online only for few months he probably receives already a ton of spam from multiple sources and its harder to associate it unless certain precautions were taken like the usage of unique email account.

Hello guys,

Thanks for giving members who care a detailed reason why spam was being sent after joing ur sites..
It's nice that it is now recognized there was a leak in the chain, and i wasnt wrong to bring this to light.
Seems a few wish i was tho, but nothing new there(put ur knifes away for another day:))

If what u say happend, then it was out of dieselaction hands and not directly to blame..:thumbsup
