The download speeds are quick and it's pretty fast to navigate around. The only thing I have noticed is that if I'm downloading a video file and try to open another section of the site at the same time it's very slow to respond, I can browse other websites while downloading the files though.

This is the script our tech guy made since we had alot of hacker attacks we had to make new login system and block auto download. We are working now on multi download system without security holes.. Not that I know hat does it mean but thats what they say me :) ..
I waked up one night and discovered that my website is slow like hell because we had about 20000 illegal users trying to download it all .. Its sucks ;-(
So true...
Can somebody tell us how of paradise could be the internet life with no hackers or pirates...
Life is beautiful anyway :-)
Love ya!

Such a shame that this is needed, i'm used to download several files at the same time and browse on.
But a good thing to train my patience.... :)

This morning while we were waiting for LIVE to come on, Tristan mentioned that MPEG files download in 2 or 3 minute (viewing time) pieces and it's hard to merge them together.

You can merge MPEG files with a Playlist. (That's what MS Windows MediaPlayer calls it - I think Real, QuickTime, etc all have something similar.)
Here's how I do it: Start MediaPlayer, then multi-select and drag all the MPEG files in the series onto the screen. A list will show up at the right side, and you might have to drag some of the file names up or down in the list until they are all in order. Then (while you watch the first one, if you wish) go to the MediaPlayer File menu and select "Save Playlist" or "Save Playlist As" and it creates a little ".wpl" file with the names and locations of the MPEG files in order.
Next time you want to watch the series, you go to the directory where you saved the playlist and click on the Playlist file and it will play all the MPEG files in the same order.
(I'm not sure, but I think if you move the MPEG files or rename anything, you might have to re-make the Playlist.)

You probably have a way of organizing your MASHA files. Because of duplicate file names (which you could change as you download them, but that's a pain) I make a directory for each "day" into which I download that day's series of MPEG files. (I use directory names like yymmdd: for example today would be 040727.)
Inside that directory I also make a subdirectory named "stills" where I download the JPG images that appear on the MASHA screen. I download them before I start downloading the MPEG files, cuz each JPG only takes a few seconds and it's over and done. Later I can go to my Stills directory for that day and review the Thumbnails or a Slide Show of the JPG pics.
Next I download the MPEG files (one at a time, for reasons described by Masha). While they download I do something else (check email, read a book, etc). I don't try to overlap this process with anything else from Masha World (same reason). On my DSL connection they download at about 40 KB per sec so each MPEG takes about 15 min.
Then when I have all the files in a particular series, I make the Playlist for it, as above. When I store it, I use "SAVE AS" to give it a name like 040727.wpl, and I put it in directory 040727 with the corresponding MPEG files. But you might want all the MASHA playlists in the same directory.

I have also discovered that while you are playing (i.e., "converting") a MPEG file with QuickTime, you can stop and do a COPY from the frame you see on the screen, and then PASTE it to your Photo Ed software and save it. When I do this I put it (with a separate name of course) in my Stills directory for that series.

I use a programme called 'combimovie' which joins MPEG files perfectly and very quickly. It names the joined file 'join' and then you just rename that one and delete all the parts.
You can get it from here http://go.to/mxtool and it's freeware. I'm using version 1.1, but I see they've released version 1.2, which I haven't tried yet.
