Hi there,

I'm not sure if you are aware, but there's a very effective medicine in the market now that can help you quit smoking.

you can read more about it at :

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Varenicline

two very good friends of mine that have been very heavy smokers by using it for few weeks they cut smoking and now after 5 months never looked back!

There are some studies indicating that it may cause a light form of depression to some ppl, yet I think the health benefits you get by not smoking are way much bigger.

I smoked my last cigarette in Feb 2005, bringing to an end a many decade 60 a day habit.
Now if someone can tell how I can stop chewing the nicotine gum I replaced my fags with, I would be very obliged :D

Great post! I will ask my doctor about this! I really want and need to quit my filthy habit! I am not too worried about the side effect, as I already have a PTSD diagnose after military service :crazy :) I will surely give it a try! Thanks!

great to hear guys,im against meds myself, but the risks from smoking are tremendous. I lost both my father and my aunt at young age cause of it and i would hate to see it happening to more people. There are so many pleasant things in life to let smoking affect it!! Not worth it.

Hi again,

my roommate tried stop smoking with "cyban" about two years ago......after some serious menthal problems (bad nightmares, insomnia, etc....) he stopped taking cyban and tried it with the german internet site "rauchfrei-online (.de)"....with this, he has been successful for more than two years now....

And I stopped about 2 month later without any help.....I am also successful until now. But I think, I wouldn t be, if I had nobody who remembered me to be strong (my roommate)....

I think, now, i won't start again...I have a new girlfriend who doesnt smoke eighter....thats also a good help to not start again!.

For the first month I saved my money (everyday about 8 €) in a glass near my bed (where I could see it all the time!)....and after this month I went out to buy something nice for myself.....

Joe:thumbsup
