Delighted to say not experienced many problems, few I had were ages ago.

Would be nice if we could chose our own passwords though, I need to store my existing ones in .txt file as impossible to remember them all in present format.

Thats a window for easy hackering.
Password and access key avoiding many attacks.

I've only ever had one problem due to my user pass being detected from multiple IP's (not me!), but was fixed within a couple of hours. So I voted never ;)

I understand security reasons for user/pass/key system, but why do we now have to enter after a specified amount of time since last visit? Before these things were automatic. This is not so much of a problem for me using Firefox as it stores text-field strings, but for users of other browsers it must be very annoying.

The only problem I ever had was when you changed servers, but it was sorted within 24 hours, so I voted never.

Understood.

No problem with access key, just saying would be nice if we could make up our own easy to remember password rather than the one given to us when we join.

Not ever being able to change it is a security risk, I have been using the same one for 11 months! (Still can not memorise it :D ) Some guys 2 years.

Perfect setup would be a user defineable password which can be changed at will by user together with the random access key generation.

Diesel, a quick answer is a user definable password 8 - 14 characters and must contain 2 capital letters and a number. It worked for my company, why not here.

Sort of thing I am used to on sites dealing with my cash and investments, where security is a KEY issue.

But agree with Diesel's point, people are stupid and lazy and unless forced to go the way you suggest would define stupid easy to guess passwords.

To me, a word meaning only something to me with 2 random letters in upper case, a number and a symbol would be just as secure as the gobbily gook generated on sign up, but easy to remember.
